Paint

Today was the first time I got to see how everything fits together and overall I am happy but there are a few things that jumped out about the build overall that are not working the way I had hoped.
The list so far:
#1 Oil tank needs to be bigger
#2 Seat should be wider, thinner and flush with back fender
#3 Too much chrome - shocks, front end, wheel, trees, rear sprocket and rockers need to go PC black

I came up with this Euro influenced fender design a few months back and was not really pleased with how it came out so I wanted a do over but just couldn't find any time to re-design it.  Today for some reason I liked it again and sent it with the other parts off to get some black paint.  I am forever trying to warn my customers about saying..."it's good enough" before they are satisfied but ....It's good enough.

Engine came in today

no intake or exhaust or any electronics but total costs were as follows:

2007 883 engine on ebay $1012

Shipping $600

Customs and VAT $320

The main problem right now is that the engine has a pulley and my rear wheel has a sprocket so I will have to convert the engine to a sprocket before I can line up the power train then center the rear wheel.

Out to Paint

With the seat pan now installed, the oil tank mounted and tested and the rear fender made it is time to ship out the sheet metal for a preliminary coat of paint. I doubt i will go with the Motorhead theme for the final paint but Ikinda dig the way it looks when i put it on in photoshop.

Got the gas tank done and the seat pretty much figured out so next thing is to try to figure out what kind of oil tank and where. Probably looking at something like a Moon Eyes style just not sure on where to put it yet.

Almost there now. tomorrow I can get the tank mounted and hopefully the seat as well. then we can start on oil tank and fenders.
